THETRIS / ROLLTRIS Boxed Edition (Game, System: Atari XL/XE, Format: Disk)
product description
"MPG Productions" (MaPa and PG) appear to have brains which work just like how 8-bit Atari's work. Otherwise I cannot explain how they produce games such as these which are such high-quality pro-ductions. Recently they even managed to gain a 2nd place in the "ABBUC Software Contest".
Here I will present to you a couple of games which when booted will present you with a boot menu where you can select which game that you want. In my addition, there is also an additional soundtrack especially for this floppy release.
"Rolltris" is most well known as the third placed entry in the 2013 "ABBUC Software Contest". "Rolltris" is a different twist on the concept of "Tetris" because it involved moving the rows of blocks near the bottom of the screen rather than moving the falling blocks. In addition to the challenge of the change in concept, you also need to remember that potentially a few rows will need moving in order for the falling stone to fit.
The authors of the game then asked the question, "How would this game look if it was a regular version of Tetris"?
Because the original game was so good and so many superlatives could be thrown at it, the converted version also works. The graphics are rich in details, fit for purpose and are very colourful. The sound is catchy tune which contributes to the addictive factor in the game.
"Thetris" was programmed with great graphics and the longer soundtrack and the game is split up into nine different levels. Each level is different in that the speed of the falling stones is different.
The BOXED GAME comes with a specially drawn cover and a custom-styled floppy cover. Please be supportive of "Pro(c) Atari" and the programmers to ensure the existence of new software and the continuance of the magazine.
And you get all of this in a lovely collectors box.
